This Policy is designed to meet the requirements of such laws and protect your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information that you provide to us voluntarily, as well as information generated or collected automatically when you use the Services. We only collect information that is reasonably necessary to provide and improve the Services, comply with legal obligations, and protect the security of the Services and our users.

1.1 Voluntarily Provided Information

  • Account Registration & Login Information: When you create a Riftplay account, you may provide us with information such as your email address, username, password, and profile nickname. If you log in using a third-party account (e.g., Steam, Epic Games, or social media accounts), we may collect your unique identifier, nickname, and avatar from the third-party platform, as authorized by you.

  • 实名认证信息(Real Identity Information): To comply with U.S. and international gaming regulations (including age verification for anti-addiction measures), we may collect your full name and date of birth, or verify such information through a trusted third-party verification service (e.g., identity verification platforms). For users who may be under 13, we will collect additional information in accordance with COPPA (see Section 6).

  • User-Generated Content (UGC): If you upload, share, or post content through the Services (e.g., game screenshots, videos, forum posts, or custom mods), we may collect such UGC. You retain ownership of your UGC, but grant us a license to use it as described in our Terms & Conditions.

  • Communication Information: If you contact our customer support, we may collect your communication content, contact information, and related details to respond to your inquiries and resolve issues.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

  • Device Information: We collect information about the device you use to access the Services, including device name, model, operating system version, hardware serial number, device identifiers (e.g., IMEI, MAC address, Android ID, OAID), Wi-Fi status, network type, and carrier information. This information helps us optimize the Services for different devices and ensure compatibility.

  • Usage & Game Logs: We automatically collect logs related to your use of the Services, such as login time, logout time, game progress, in-game actions, item purchases, battle records, and error/crash reports. This information is used to maintain service stability, troubleshoot technical issues, analyze gameplay patterns, and improve the Services.

  • Location Information: We may collect approximate location information based on your IP address or Wi-Fi signal, but only to provide location-based features (e.g., regional server matching) or comply with regional regulations. We do not collect precise GPS location unless you explicitly grant permission.

  • Security-Related Information: To prevent cheating, hacking, and other malicious activities, we may collect information about installed applications, process running status, and device connection information (e.g., USB devices, Bluetooth connections) to detect unauthorized third-party software or exploits.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following legitimate purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Services, including account management, game functionality, and customer support.

  • To ensure the security of the Services and our users, including detecting and preventing fraud, cheating, unauthorized access, and other harmful activities.

  • To comply with legal obligations, including age verification, anti-addiction regulations, tax requirements, and responding to lawful requests from government authorities.

  • To send you service-related notifications (e.g., account updates, game maintenance alerts, and important policy changes). We will not send unsolicited marketing communications without your consent.

  • To personalize your gaming experience, such as recommending in-game content, matching you with other players, and customizing game settings based on your preferences.

3. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to third parties for commercial purposes, except as explicitly stated in this Policy. We may disclose your information in the following circumstances:

  • With Your Consent: We will disclose your information to third parties if you have given us explicit consent to do so.

  • Service Providers: We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Services (e.g., cloud hosting, payment processing, identity verification, customer support tools). These service providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and may only use your information to perform services on our behalf.

  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, court order, or government subpoena, or to protect our legal rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.

  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or dissolution, your information may be transferred to the successor entity as part of the business transaction. We will notify you of such a transfer via prominent notice on our website or through the Services.

  • Anonymized & Aggregated Data: We may disclose anonymized and aggregated data (which cannot be used to identify you) to third parties for research, analytics, or marketing purposes. For example, we may share data on overall gameplay trends with game developers or partners.

4. Data Security & Storage

4.1 Security Measures

We implement industry-standard technical and administrative measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit (using TLS 1.2+) and at rest (using AES-256 encryption).

  • Access controls to limit access to personal information to authorized personnel only.

  • Regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and employee training on data protection.

  • Secure storage of sensitive information (e.g., payment details, identity information) in encrypted databases.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no security system is completely impenetrable. You acknowledge that your use of the Services is at your own risk, and we shall not be liable for unauthorized access due to factors beyond our reasonable control.

4.2 Data Storage & Retention

We store your personal information in the United States, where our servers and business operations are located. We may also store information in other countries where our service providers maintain facilities, provided that such storage complies with applicable privacy laws.

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Once your information is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymize it.

5. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction of residence (e.g., California, Nevada), you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. We will respond to all legitimate requests in accordance with applicable laws.

5.1 General Rights

  • Access & Correction: You may request access to the personal information we hold about you and request corrections if such information is inaccurate or incomplete.

  • Deletion: You may request the deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., if we need to retain the information to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes).

  • Opt-Out: You may opt out of receiving non-essential communications (e.g., marketing messages) by following the unsubscribe instructions in such communications or updating your account settings.

  • Account Deletion: You may delete your Riftplay account at any time through your account settings. Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information in accordance with Section 4.2.

6. Protection of Children Under 13 (COPPA Compliance)

We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which regulates the collection of personal information from children under 13. We do not intentionally target children under 13 with our Services, and if we become aware that a user is under 13, we will take the following steps:

  • We will only collect, use, or disclose personal information from a child under 13 with verifiable parental consent, unless permitted by COPPA (e.g., collecting minimal information to respond to a one-time request).

  • We will provide parents with clear notice of our data collection practices and obtain their consent before collecting any personal information from their child.

  • Parents may review, correct, or delete their child’s personal information at any time by contacting us. We will promptly respond to such requests.

  • We will not use children’s personal information for marketing purposes, create persistent user profiles, or share such information with third parties for commercial purposes, except as permitted by COPPA.

  • Face recognition data (if collected for identity verification) will be encrypted, used solely for verification purposes, and not retained after verification is complete.

If you believe your child under 13 has provided personal information to us without your consent, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to delete the information and terminate the child’s account.

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our data practices, legal requirements, or the Services. If we make material changes to this Policy, we will notify you by posting the revised Policy on our website, through the Services, or via email (if you have provided an email address), with a new "Last Updated" date.
